Well, well - I still remember the time when I officially declared my household "teenager-free". Hard to believe it was 7 years ago and now it's my brother's turn... But anyway, about Ilusha.
It just so happened that our family is (or was up until recently) very short on men. So Ilusha had to become THE man in our family. Someone we can rely on, someone who would help without being asked. And so he did. I remember him helping us moving to a new apartment when he was 6 years old - such a tiny little cute boy carrying sofa cushions almost his size!
Ilusha always behaved older than his age, always had his own point of view on just about everything (most of the time absolutely ridiculous but we won't go there). So now finally the time came when he doesn't need to try to be older than he is - HE"S TWENTY!!!
Happy birthday, Ilusha - our family gatherings won't be the same without you - who is going to eat all of the khachapuri followed by THE chocolate cherry cake? So you just have to come back soon. And maybe while living in Japan you'll learn to eat fish and start appreciating seafood? This will give me more opportunities to practise my old and newly aquired cooking skills on someone who enjoys eating and never forgets to praise the cook!
Have a good trip - I'm glad the spirit of adventure is alive in our family.
Cheers,
